معرفی
Dr. Dong Gui Hu is a researcher at the College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University, and a member of the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute. His work focuses on molecular pharmacology, particularly the study of UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) and ADME genes in drug metabolism and cancer biology.
Dr. Hu received his PhD in Molecular Genetics from The University of Adelaide in 2004. He has since published over 20 articles in journals such as Molecular Pharmacology, Cancer Research, and Cancers.
Research Interests
- Deciphering molecular mechanisms of UGT expression and activity under therapeutic drugs and sex steroid hormones.
- Identifying transcriptional factors and microRNAs controlling UGTs in liver and hormone-sensitive cancers.
- Expanding to ADME genes and their role in drug/endogenous compound clearance in cancers.
- Discovering androgen receptor splice variants (ARVs) in breast cancer and their clinical implications.
Publications demonstrate expertise in bioinformatics, RNA sequencing, and somatic mutation analysis. Recent work includes collaborations on TCGA datasets and novel transcript variants in UGT1A proteins.
Supervisory Interests involve mentoring Honours and PhD students in Molecular Biology and Drug Metabolism.
