Donato Valerio

Donato Valerio is a Full Professor of Private Law at the University of Calabria, affiliated with the Department of Law, Economics and Sociology (DiGES). His research focuses on civil law, contract law, legal theory, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He has contributed extensively to topics such as legal pluralism, banking contracts, and digital obligations.

His academic work spans theoretical and applied legal studies, including analyses of the principle of subsidiarity in civil law, the evolution of contractual obligations in digital contexts, and the application of legal principles to contemporary issues like sports governance and collective property rights. Recent publications highlight his engagement with interdisciplinary approaches to law, particularly in sports law and internet-based legal frameworks.

Prof. Valerio is also involved in academic research initiatives, such as the “La dottrina della giurisprudenza” research center. His teaching responsibilities include courses on private law and civil procedure at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
