Dr. Donald Trott is a Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), leading the Concert Singers, Men’s Glee Club, and University Chorus. He has directed choirs performing at national and international venues including France, Germany, and the White House. As graduate program coordinator, he teaches choral conducting and literature.
Education:

- Doctor of Musical Arts (1983) – University of Oklahoma
His research focuses on 18th-century performance practice, Leonard Bernstein’s choral works, and choral music history. He authored Conducting Men’s Choirs (2020) and edited an ACDA monograph on 19th-century choral repertoire. He served as past president of the ACDA’s Southern Region and Virginia chapter.
He coordinates choral activities across multiple ensembles and supervises graduate conducting recitals. His work bridges historical performance practices with contemporary choral pedagogy.
