Donald Sturgeon is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Durham University, with affiliations to the Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies. His research develops computational methods for analyzing and digitizing premodern Chinese texts, including OCR systems and linked data frameworks.
Recent work focuses on crowdsourced knowledge bases for Chinese history. He regularly presents at digital humanities conferences including DH Tokyo and Heidelberg University workshops.
