Dr. Donald Stoker is Professor of Strategy and Policy who served 18 years in the Naval War College Monterey program at the Naval Postgraduate School. A renowned military historian, his scholarship examines grand strategy, limited war theory, and advisory missions across conflicts from the Civil War to modern gray-zone challenges.
His influential works include the Fletcher Pratt Award-winning 'The Grand Design' analyzing Civil War strategy and 'Why America Loses Wars' critiquing limited war doctrine. Current research explores Clausewitzian applications to contemporary conflicts and US grand strategy evolution. He received the Navy Civilian Superior Service Award for academic leadership.
