Don Smith is an Associate Professor of the Practice of Law at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law, specializing in environmental law with a focus on European Union environmental and energy policy. Formerly the Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law JD and Graduate Programs, he also holds editorial roles in peer-reviewed legal journals and has produced notable documentaries, including Jean Monnet: Father of Europe and an oral history project on Judge David Edward of the European Union Court of Justice. He teaches courses on environmental law and a Holocaust Seminar, reflecting his family’s historical ties to WWII liberation efforts.

Research & Projects
