Don Phillippi

Don Phillippi is an Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering at Kansas State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from University of California, San Diego, M.S. and B.S. degrees from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a B.Arch. in Architecture. His research develops analytical models for structural load distribution and FRP-reinforced concrete systems.

Research focuses on:

• 3D nonlinear modeling of bridge structures
• Fiber models for concrete columns
• CFRP reinforcement mechanics
• Seismic performance of building components

Honors include multiple teaching awards and fellowships recognizing structural engineering research. With over 700 commercial projects in his professional portfolio, he specializes in concrete tilt-up, masonry, steel, and wood-framed structures.
