Dr. Don L Schuman is an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) School of Social Work. He holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Oklahoma (2012) and advanced clinical social work licenses in Texas and Kentucky. With over 27 years of U.S. Army service, Dr. Schuman transitioned to civilian roles in substance abuse counseling and clinical leadership, including positions at the Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center and Fort Hood. His academic career includes teaching at UTA and the University of Kentucky, focusing on substance misuse treatment, military social work, and healthcare leadership.
