Dr. Domitilla Sagramoso is a Senior Lecturer in Security and Development at King's College London's Department of War Studies, within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She joined the university in 2005 and previously held roles at the Caucasus Policy Institute and the Centre for Defence Studies. Her research focuses on Russian foreign policy, post-Soviet conflicts, and Islamist violence in the North Caucasus and Central Asia. She holds a PhD in International Relations from University College London.

Her research interests span three key areas: Russian foreign and security policy, conflict and security in post-Soviet Eurasia, and Islamist terrorism dynamics. She has authored books such as Russian Imperialism Revisited (2020) and co-authored chapters on jihadism in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Her work integrates Hegemony Theory and Neo-Empire frameworks to analyze Russian geopolitical ambitions.
Recent publications address topics like foreign Salafi-Jihadists in Chechnya, ISIS recruitment in Dagestan, and the socio-economic impacts of the pandemic. She has also supervised PhD projects on Russian foreign policy, Eurasian separatism, and EU-NATO relations.
Dr. Sagramoso is affiliated with the King’s Russia Institute and the Conflict, Security & Development Research Group (CSDRG), contributing to policy advising and public events on Ukraine, Colombia, and Eurasian peace processes.
