- PhD in Political Science (Sciences Po, 1994)
- Master’s degree (Sciences Po)
- French agrégation in Political Science
His research focuses on political power transformations, public opinion dynamics, and populism in France and Europe. He pioneered the concept of 'heritage populism', analyzing its impact on democratic systems (Journal of Democracy, 2016). His work connects political philosophy with empirical studies on elections, surveys, and EU governance.
Recent publications examine populist risks, democratic perceptions, and European identity through comparative analyses (France, Germany, Austria, Greece) and thematic studies on immigration, religion, and gender. Articles often blend theoretical frameworks with data-driven insights from surveys and policy reports.
Reynié’s expertise is evident in roles such as leading doctoral programs at Sciences Po and advising the European Commission. He contributes to public debates via media appearances and research dissemination, emphasizing the interplay between liberalism, democracy, and citizen anxieties.
His institutional affiliations include CEVIPOF (Sciences Po’s political research hub) and the Foundation for Political Innovation, where he directs policy-focused studies on topics like youth addictions, pension system evaluations, and geopolitical cooperation.
