Dominique Mailly is a CNRS Researcher affiliated with the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N) under Université Paris-Saclay. Born in November 1956, he graduated from École Supérieure d'Électricité in 1980 and earned his PhD at Paris Sud University in 1983. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley (1984), he joined the CNRS in 1985, contributing to nanofabrication and mesoscopic physics research. He led the Mesoscopic Physics group at LMM (1993), founded the Physics and Technology of Nanostructures group at LPN (2001), and served as LPN’s Deputy Director (2006) and Director (2012–2016).
