Dr. Dominik Mitzel leads the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group at TU Dortmund University's Faculty of Physics. His group specializes in experimental elementary particle physics, particularly flavor physics, focusing on rare decays of hadrons with charm quarks using data from the LHCb experiment at CERN. Their research addresses fundamental questions like matter-antimatter asymmetry, dark matter candidates, and the structure of matter particles.
- Position: Emmy Noether Junior Research Group Leader
- Affiliation: Department of Physics, TU Dortmund University
- Location: Otto-Hahn-Straße 4a, Dortmund, Germany
Current members include PhD candidates Luca Toscano, Donata Osthues, and Lorenzo Nisi, as well as Master’s students Christopher Breitfeld, Tabea Hacheney, and Henry Krämerkämper. The group collaborates with institutions like the Universities of Bonn and Siegen on hadron and particle physics lectures.
