Prof. Dominik Karos is a Professor for Economic Theory at the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW) at Bielefeld University since 2020. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at Maastricht University's Department of Microeconomics and Public Economics (2016–2020), and as Career Development Fellow at the University of Oxford's Department of Economics and St Edmund Hall (2013–2016). He holds a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University (2013), obtained under joint supervision by Hans Peters and Dinko Dimitrov, following a shift from a career in financial risk management consulting (2008–2010).
His research initially focused on cooperative game theory, power indices, and coalition formation. Recently, his work explores how social environments influence decision-making, particularly in information design within voting games (collaborating with Jean-Jacques Herings and Toygar Kerman). His current affiliations include the IMW and the Department of Business and Economics at Bielefeld.
