Dominik Barz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Queen's University, part of the Smith Engineering faculty. His office is located in Dupuis Hall 213. He holds a Ph.D. (2005) in Fluid Mechanics from Universität Karlsruhe and a B.Eng. (1996) in Mechanical Engineering from Fachhochschule Aachen.

Research interests focus on electrochemical and materials engineering, including energy storage devices (supercapacitors, batteries), lab-on-a-chip technologies, microfluidics, and nanotechnology. His group employs experimental and computational methods for both applied and fundamental studies.
Recipient of awards such as the Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellowship (2016–2017). Current supervision includes Hoang Dang (Postdoctoral Fellow). Served as Associate Director of the Queen’s-RMC Fuel Cell Research Centre.
Labs/Teams: Active in electrochemical energy storage and nanomaterials research at Queen’s University.
