Dominic White is a Research Fellow in Theology, the Arts, and Wisdom at the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology and serves as Acting Director of Research. He is also a Research Fellow at the Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology and a Dominican friar and Catholic priest based at the Priory of St. Michael, Blackfriars, Cambridge.
- Education: STL from Institut Catholique, Paris (2011); PhD from Imperial College London (2000); MA from Pembroke College, Cambridge (1997).
White's research focuses on the theology of the arts, non-verbal and experiential aspects of liturgy, sophiology (Wisdom theology), and environmental theology. His work bridges theological inquiry with artistic expression, particularly in sacred music and architecture.
Recent research outputs, such as How Do I Look and The Lost Knowledge of Christ, examine intersections between digital culture, Christian cosmology, and multi-sensory liturgical experiences. A forthcoming volume, Views from the Pews, expands this to include Catholic and Eastern Orthodox perspectives on liturgy.
As a composer, he co-founded the Friends of Sophia group and created music for projects like Spode Evening Canticles, which explores festal Anglican liturgy through choral compositions.
