Dominic Villeneuve

Dr. Dominic Villeneuve is a Professor at the School of Planning and Regional Development (ÉSAD) at Université Laval, where he conducts research and teaches in the fields of sustainable mobility, land use planning, and transportation policy. His work focuses on understanding car dependency, modal shift, and the social dimensions of mobility, particularly in urban, peri-urban, and rural contexts. He leads and co-leads multiple externally funded research projects involving interdisciplinary collaborations with universities, government agencies, and NGOs.

Dr. Villeneuve's research has been featured in media outlets such as Radio-Canada, TV5 Monde, and Noovo. He actively supervises master’s and PhD students and teaches graduate courses including Transport and Territorial Dynamics and Implementing Sustainable Transport. He also participates in public engagement through advisory committees on sustainable mobility for Quebec City and the Quebec Metropolitan Community.
