Dr. Goran Smith is an Honorary Senior Principal Research Fellow at the University of Sydney Business School and a senior researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. He holds a PhD from Chalmers University. His work focuses on digital innovations driving sustainability transitions in transportation systems, particularly Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS). He also serves as a regional developer at Region Västra Götaland, leading MaaS strategy development to reduce car dependency in transport systems.
Education: BSc, MSc, Licentiate, and PhD from Chalmers University of Technology.
Research interests include sustainable mobility systems, governance of emerging transport technologies, and policy frameworks for integrating MaaS into urban planning.
