Domingo Morel is an Associate Professor at New York University's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and holds a joint appointment in NYU's Wilf Family Department of Politics. His research spans racial and ethnic politics, urban politics, education politics, and public policy.
- Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from Brown University (2014)
Dr. Morel's scholarship includes analyses of college access programs, affirmative action policy, and state takeovers of local governments. His recent work critiques Texas' takeover of Houston public schools through the lens of racial power dynamics. He has authored two influential books: Takeover: Race, Education, and American Democracy (2018) and Developing Scholars: Race, Politics, and the Pursuit of Higher Education (2023).

With extensive applied experience in education and political affairs, Dr. Morel previously worked in higher education special programs supporting underserved students. He co-founded the Latino Policy Institute at Roger Williams University and served as past president of the Rhode Island Latino Political Action Committee.
