Prof. Dominga Rogolino is an Associate Professor at the University of Parma, affiliated with the Department of Chemical, Life and Environmental Sustainability Sciences. She specializes in bio-inorganic chemistry, focusing on antiviral and antitumor agents, as well as eco-sustainable applications in agriculture and livestock. Her research involves collaborations with national and international companies, emphasizing innovative, environmentally friendly solutions.
Educated at the University of Parma, she earned her Chemistry degree (1999) and Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences (2003). She has held academic roles since 2002, becoming Associate Professor in 2020. Her research spans over 70 international publications, two patents, and book chapters.
Research interests include designing metal complexes targeting tumor cells, developing chelating agents against viral enzymes (e.g., HIV, influenza), and lignin-derived antimicrobial agents. Collaborations with industry drive sustainable agricultural and livestock product development.
Teaching responsibilities include chemistry courses for physics undergraduates and PF24 education pathways. She mentors PhD students, supervises master’s and research fellows, and leads initiatives like the Fondazione Cariplo-funded Aflatox project.
She serves on the Department’s Orientation Committee, oversees transversal competencies programs, and organizes teacher training workshops. Her work bridges fundamental chemistry with applied research in drug design and environmental sustainability.
