Prof. Dolores Tierney is a Professor of Film at the University of Sussex's School of Media, Arts and Humanities. She previously held roles including Head of Film Studies (2021), Senior Lecturer (2012–2021), and Lecturer (2003–2012). Her research focuses on transnational Latin American cinema, cultural politics, and gender representation. She co-edited Global Cult Cinemas: Decolonising Cult Film Studies (2025) and authored New Transnationalisms in Contemporary Latin American Cinemas (2018). Her work explores filmmakers like Iñárritu, del Toro, and Fernández, emphasizing diasporic identities and colonial legacies.
