معرفی
Do-Houn Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Physiology at Gonzaga University, dedicated to researching lifestyle interventions that enhance neuromuscular health and metabolism through physical activity and nutrition.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Florida State University (2018)
- M.S. in Physical Education, Sungshin Women's University (2010)
- B.S. in Physical Education, Kyung Hee University (2008)
Dr. Kim's research spans exercise physiology, metabolism, obesity, skeletal muscle function, and vascular health, with emphasis on vitamin D, creatine supplementation, and resistance training interventions. His work investigates how lifestyle choices impact metabolic efficiency in obesity, diabetes, and aging populations using both animal models and human clinical studies. Recent publications reveal consistent focus on translational applications of exercise-nutrition synergies for improving vascular function, glycemic control, and muscle health.
As an educator, he teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology I (HYPY 242), Nutrition and Metabolism (HUM 244), and Guided Experimental Design (HYPY 441), employing real-world applications to foster critical thinking and lifelong health habits. His teaching philosophy centers on creating supportive environments where students develop practical health decision-making skills through evidence-based approaches.
