Dmitrijs Andrejevs

Dmitrijs Andrejevs is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of History at The University of Manchester. His work focuses on 20th-century European history, post-socialist memory dynamics, and transnational commemoration practices. He co-convenes the Study Group on the Baltic States within the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies. His research often examines monuments and their socio-political implications, particularly in post-Soviet contexts.

Research interests include late-Soviet transformations in the Baltic states, cross-border memorial practices, and the material legacies of socialist regimes. He collaborates on projects like the analysis of sports mega-events’ geopolitical impacts and the study of socialist-era statues in Manchester.

Professional roles beyond academia include serving as Conference Research Executive for the Manchester Convention Bureau, supporting academic conference hosting in the region. He is affiliated with the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies and the Memory Studies Association.
