Valda Budreckaitė is a PhD student and junior researcher at Vilnius University's Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy (TSPMI), affiliated with the Center for (Post)Soviet Memory Studies and the Department of Political Behavior and Institutional Studies. Her work bridges comparative politics, political sociology, and memory studies.

- Current Role: Doctoral candidate (since 2019) and junior researcher in post-socialist transformation projects
Her research focuses on post-socialist transformation, memory studies, and qualitative methods, particularly how moral emotions shape collective memory in Lithuania and Poland. Her dissertation explores the post-Soviet period as cultural trauma and its influence on political attitudes. Her 2023 publications analyze agricultural transformation and the interplay of independence narratives with social memory.
Valda participated in the Baltic-Nordic Network projects (BAMSE 2020-2021) and served as a junior researcher in the 2021-2022 project on dismantling Soviet modernity. Her work earned recognition in the Best Qualitative Work in Lithuania 2023 Competition.
She collaborates with the Center for (Post)Soviet Memory Studies and has presented at major conferences, including the Tartu Conference on Russian and East European Studies (2022) and the AABS Biennial Conference (2022).
