Divyaraj Amiya is a Lecturer in Hindi at the Department of Indology, Asia-Orient Institute, University of Tübingen, since April 2004. His work spans South Asian literatures (Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi), modern South Asian history, and identity debates. He manages the Karmendu Shishir Literary Archive, preserving South Asian literary journals from the 1880s onwards.
Research Interests
Amiya's research critically examines the intersection of time culture, labor, and social identity in modern South Asia. He explores how everyday activities are commodified into work, affecting human relationships and health. His work bridges literary analysis, historical studies, and socio-political theory.
