Dirk van der Linden is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Northumbria University. His research focuses on interspecies information systems, animal-computer interaction (ACI), and the ethical implications of technology in human-animal relationships. He co-founded the Tech4Animals Lab, a multidisciplinary team advancing technology for animal welfare and science. He has organized major conferences like the 2022 International Conference on Animal-Computer Interaction and contributed to policy briefings on pet data privacy.
