Diony Kypraiou is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA Interior Architecture programme at the University of Westminster's School of Architecture and Cities. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), she joined Westminster in 2016 and holds concurrent teaching affiliations with Syracuse University and UCL's Bartlett School of Architecture, where she is completing her doctoral degree. Her leadership includes coordinating cross-institutional initiatives and staff wellbeing programmes.
Her research examines polyvocal design practices intersecting theatre, psychoanalysis, and spatial design, with applied work in mental health environments and pedagogical innovation. She explores interdisciplinary collaboration through projects like the Imperial College knowledge exchange on neuro-rehabilitation space redesign. As a member of the Making and Practice Research Group, she investigates creative methodologies in architectural education.
Recent scholarly output includes the 2022 conference paper Co-Creating Space for Mental Health, which reflects her focus on participatory design, therapeutic spaces, and cross-sector collaboration in healthcare architecture.
