Diniz Lopes is an Associate Professor with Habilitation and Director of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at ISCTE-IUL. He holds a PhD in Social and Organizational Psychology (2007) and completed his Habilitation in Psychology in 2021. His research focuses on interpersonal relationships, including commitment dynamics, monogamy/non-monogamy, human-pet bonds, and statistical methodologies in psychological research. He has published in journals like Behavior Research Methods and Archives of Sexual Behavior. His teaching includes courses on psychometry, professional skills development, and advanced research methods. Lopes has led research projects at institutions such as the Universities of Paris Ouest and Porto during his postdoctoral tenure (2010–2013).
