Dimitris Papadimitriou is Professor of Political Science at the University of Manchester, having previously held academic positions at the London School of Economics, University of Bradford, and University of Leeds. He has been Director of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and serves as Co-Editor of the European Politics book series at Manchester University Press.

Research focuses on contemporary Greek public policy and the European Union's external relations, with specific interests in Greek bailouts, Prime Ministerial leadership, EU enlargement processes, and state-building in conflict regions. His work examines the discursive and policy implications of economic crises and governance reforms across European political systems.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on European integration dynamics, with recent work examining crisis decision-making, bailout politics, and the Europeanization of national policies. Theoretical contributions span institutional analysis, discourse studies, and comparative political economy across Southern and Eastern Europe.
