Dimitrios Dalaklis is Professor and Head of Maritime Safety and Environmental Administration (MSEA) at World Maritime University, where he also serves as University of the Arctic (UArctic) Chair in Search and Rescue. A Hellenic Navy veteran with 26 years of service, he brings practical navigation expertise from commanding warships and supervising training programs.
His research addresses maritime safety, Arctic operations, digitalization in shipping, and search and rescue frameworks. Dalaklis has authored multiple books including 'Autonomous Vessels in Maritime Affairs' and 'Smart Ports and Autonomous Systems'.
He coordinates international research on Arctic SAR capabilities and port decarbonization. As an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and IAME member, his work combines technical knowledge with regulatory analysis.
