Professor Dimitria G. Groutsis is the Academic Director of the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Program and holds a Professorship in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Sydney Business School. She holds a BEc (Honours) from the University of Sydney and a PhD from UNSW Sydney. Her research focuses on migration, labour mobility, and cultural diversity in business contexts, with a particular emphasis on diversity and inclusion policies, ethno-racial dynamics, and intersectionality. She collaborates with organizations like the Diversity Council Australia, Australian Human Rights Commission, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Groutsis has secured over $2.5 million in competitive research grants, including an ARC Linkage grant and industry-funded projects. She leads the Migration, Ethno-Racial, Cultural and Intersectionality@Work Research Group (MERCI@WRG), fostering dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers. Her work bridges academic research with practical business strategies, emphasizing engagement with marginalized groups such as culturally and racially diverse leaders and forced migrants.
Her awards include the SOAR Fellowship (2019–2020), Thompson Fellowship (2021), and the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Diversity and Inclusion (2022). She serves on advisory boards for the Diversity Council Australia and the RISE project, exploring systemic barriers for culturally and racially marginalised women in leadership. Her teaching spans undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive programs, focusing on international HRM, diversity, and workplace ethics.
