Ann Davis is an education-focused Professor in the Discipline of Work and Organisation Studies at the University of Sydney Business School. She holds leadership roles including Undergraduate Coordinator and membership in the University’s Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) team. With a PhD in Psychology from the University of Nottingham, her research explores employee perspectives on work, HR strategy, and organizational ethics. She has led academic programs at Aston University and contributed to HRM education across multiple institutions.
Her research interests center on the meaning of work, employee engagement dynamics, and how organizational policies influence workplace well-being. Methodologically, she excels in qualitative and quantitative analysis, particularly survey design. Her teaching spans HR strategy, performance management, and international HRM, with 40 years of experience.
Ann has supervised 10 doctoral students and authored/co-authored seminal works like Human Resource Management: Strategic and International Perspectives. Her awards include Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE and Chartered Membership of the CIPD. She actively participates in global HRM discourse through her Academy of Management membership.
