Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanneمعرفی
Dimitri Stelio Wyss is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor and Chair of Arithmetic Geometry at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Basic Sciences and the Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on algebraic and arithmetic geometry, leveraging p-adic and motivic integration to explore cohomology of algebraic varieties and their applications in mirror symmetry, the Langlands program, and enumerative geometry.
Education and Career: Wyss completed his PhD under Tamas Hausel at EPFL and the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria). He served as a postdoctoral researcher from 2017–2019 before assuming his current role at EPFL in 2019.
Teaching: He teaches core courses such as Algebra I, Topology II, and Algebraic Geometry I, and oversees a student seminar in pure mathematics.
Research Group: Wyss leads the Chair of Arithmetic Geometry (ARG) at EPFL, focusing on foundational and applied research in arithmetic and algebraic geometry. The lab’s activities are detailed at https://www.epfl.ch/labs/arg/.
Advising: His current PhD students include Elsa Marie Eloïse Maneval and Ilaria Rossinelli, while past advisees include Tanguy François Jérôme Vernet.
