Dr. Dimitar Kostadinov is a Wellcome Trust CDA Research Fellow at King's College London's Centre for Developmental Neurobiology (CDN), part of the School of Neuroscience and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. His research focuses on understanding how long-range circuits between the cerebellum and forebrain orchestrate complex behaviors, integrating molecular, functional, and computational approaches. He leads the DK Neuro Lab, which explores cerebellar contributions to sensorimotor and cognitive functions, aiming to develop multiscale theories of neural computation.
Dr. Kostadinov holds a BSc from McGill University and a PhD from Harvard University, followed by postdoctoral research at University College London. His work has been funded by NIH, EMBO, and the Wellcome Trust. Key publications include studies on cerebellar reward signaling, deep learning for neural circuit analysis, and advanced neural recording technologies.
- Education: BSc Physiology (McGill, 2009), PhD Neuroscience (Harvard, 2015)
- Awards: Wellcome Trust CDA Fellowship, NIH Fellowship, EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship
Research interests emphasize cerebellar circuit organization, multi-regional computations, and their implications for learning and behavior. His lab employs cutting-edge tools like two-photon imaging, Neuropixels probes, and AI-driven analysis to map neural activity and connectivity.
