Dimitar Grantcharov

Dimitar Grantcharov is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington. His research focuses on Representation Theory of Lie and Jordan Algebras, quantum groups, and weight modules with applications to mathematical physics.

• Education: PhD in Mathematics (University of California Riverside, 2003), MS in Mathematical Sciences (Sofia University, 1994).

Research Interests include:

• Weight modules of Lie and Jordan algebras
• Quantized enveloping superalgebras
• Gelfand-Tsetlin modules and tableaux
• Geometric quantization of symmetric spaces
• Crystal bases and categorification
• Bounded representations of infinite-dimensional algebras

Recent Publications span topics in quantum superalgebras, Gelfand-Tsetlin modules, and Laplace eigenfunctions on symmetric spaces, with collaborations across institutions in the U.S., Brazil, and Europe.

Advising includes doctoral and master's students in representation theory, with active roles in Math Kangaroo and Putnam Exam Preparation. He has secured grants from the National Science Foundation, Simons Foundation, and National Security Agency.
