Dillon Laaker

Dillon Laaker is a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics. In July 2026, he will join the Department of Government at Cornell University as an Assistant Professor. His research focuses on trade and immigration, with a particular emphasis on international institutions, domestic politics, firm behavior, and public opinion.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2024)

Research Interests: Dillon’s work bridges international political economy and comparative politics, examining how trade and immigration policies are shaped by interactions between global institutions, national political dynamics, corporate strategies, and public attitudes.

Academic Affiliation: Currently affiliated with the London School of Economics, with a future role at Cornell University. Publications in Journal of Politics and British Journal of Political Science reflect his expertise in political economy.
