Dijana Alic is an Associate Professor and Scientia Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, School of Built Environment. She holds a PhD and Master’s in Architecture from UNSW, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Sarajevo. With over two decades of academic experience, she has served in leadership roles including Program Coordinator for the Master of Architecture (2012-17) and Associate Dean of Education (2017-20).
Her research examines the intersection of built environments with social, political, and cultural contexts, focusing on multicultural urbanism, war-impacted architecture, and affordable housing. She co-authored a 2019 book on Vienna's social housing and has published over 20 works on war and cities. Her recent articles explore migrant integration through industrial landscapes (2025), cross-cultural architectural collaboration (2024), and multicultural mosques in Australian cities (2023).

She supervises four higher-degree research candidates and contributes to architectural accreditation panels. Her teaching emphasizes evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary approaches, with peer-reviewed publications on sessional teaching strategies (2021) and design studio pedagogy (2007).
