Prof. Dietmar Stalke is a full W3 Professor at the University of Göttingen's Institute of Inorganic Chemistry since 2005. He holds a venia legendi in Inorganic Chemistry from Göttingen and has held leadership roles including Dean of Chemistry Faculty (2007-2009), Research Dean (2009-2011, 2017+), and Senator (2013-2017). His research focuses on reactive organometallic intermediates and electron density studies, leading the DFG Priority Programme 1178. A renowned educator, he pioneered the Virtual Laboratory project, recognized with multiple teaching awards including the 2015 Ars legendi Prize. He also serves on international advisory boards and has been a visiting professor at Indian institutions.
