Dieter Weller

Prof. Dieter Weller serves as an Honorary Professor of Tax Law and Economics at the School of Economics, Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar), where he has delivered courses in Accounting, Controlling, Corporate Management, Taxation, and Tax Law for Bachelor's and Master's programs since 1994.

His academic foundation includes completing the Laufbahnprüfung (career examination) at Fachschule für Finanzen Edenkoben alongside Abitur certification, followed by specialized studies in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting and Finance.

Prof. Weller's research expertise centers on Tax Law and Taxation systems, augmented by practical knowledge from tax administration roles and corporate leadership positions. His teaching integrates hands-on experience from managing payroll tax departments, VAT pre-notification units, and corporate assessment districts at Saarbrücken tax offices, plus executive roles as Bezirksleiter at Aldi GmbH & Co. KG, controlling specialist at ZF Getriebe GmbH, and head of administration at IWESA Maschinenbau GmbH.

Active within the university's Deutsch-Französisches Hochschulinstitut (DFHI), he also contributes externally as Kurator of Zentrum Mittelstand Saar, member of Saarland's Tax Advisory Board (Steuerberaterkammer des Saarlandes), and affiliate of 1. FC Saarbrücken e.V. and GEMA (as an author). Thesis supervision for graduate students is available upon request.
