Dieter Salch serves as an Adjunct Professor for Tax and Corporate Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Würzburg, appointed to a teaching position in 1995 and formally designated as honorary professor in 2001 by the Bavarian Ministry of Science.
Born in Bad Mergentheim in 1940, Professor Salch studied law and economics at Würzburg and Tübingen universities, earning his doctorate in 1965 with a thesis on "VAT reform and fiscal constitution." His academic work integrates decades of professional expertise, having served in Bavarian tax administration, established his own tax law firm in 1969, and co-founded an auditing firm in 1977 where he remains co-managing director.
Professor Salch has significantly shaped institutional development, co-founding the Law Faculty's pioneering alumni association in 1999 and serving on its board since inception. His university governance contributions peaked from 1999-2005 as University Council member, progressing from deputy chairman to chairman.
