Didier ROBERT

Didier ROBERT is a Senior Lecturer (Maître de Conférence HDR Hors Classe) affiliated with the ICPEES (UMR CNRS 7515) at the University of Strasbourg and the IUT de Moselle-Est at the University of Lorraine. He leads the Saint-Avold branch of ICPEES and has held significant leadership roles, including Head of the Chemistry Department at IUT Moselle-Est and Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Chemistry and Applications at the University of Metz.

His research is centered on environmental photocatalysis, focusing on the development and optimization of nanomaterials and processes for water and air purification. His work targets emerging contaminants such as pesticides, volatile organic compounds, and nanoplastics, utilizing semiconductors like TiO₂ and novel nanostructured materials under solar and visible light irradiation.

His recent publications from 2024 highlight a strong trend in solar-driven environmental remediation, with a focus on the synthesis of advanced photocatalytic materials (like Z-scheme heterojunctions and perovskite foams), the degradation of pharmaceuticals (diclofenac, hormones), and the treatment of pesticide-contaminated water. His research bridges fundamental material science with practical applications for sustainable environmental solutions.

He is also the founder of the European Meeting on Solar Chemistry and Photocatalysis (SPEA) and a co-founder of the European Association of Chemistry and Environment.

He leads a research team at the Saint-Avold site of ICPEES, focusing on the practical application of photocatalytic technologies for environmental decontamination.
