Diane Evans serves as a Continuing Studies Instructor in the Photography Program at Emily Carr University of Art and Design since 1996 while concurrently managing Presentation House Gallery in North Vancouver since 1987, overseeing exhibitions and bookstore operations at this internationally recognized photography institution.
Her educational foundation includes an Honors degree in Photography from ECIAD (Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design), advanced training through a Banff Center Master Class, and practical experience via an internship at the Creative Center of Photography.
Evans' artistic research explores the intersection of technical experimentation and poetic expression through diverse camera formats. She deliberately employs paper negatives, color negative pinhole cameras, and plastic cameras to introduce controlled unpredictability in composition, creating works that balance personal narrative with visual poetry. This methodology has established her presence in national and international exhibitions with pieces held in multiple permanent collections.
- No scientific awards or major grants are documented in available records
Her professional activities focus on gallery management and studio instruction without formal academic advising roles or research grant administration mentioned in institutional profiles.
