Annie Briard

Annie Briard is a Lecturer at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, affiliated with the Faculty of Culture + Community. She holds a BFA from Concordia University and an MFA from Emily Carr University, where she also teaches and manages public engagement for the Audain Faculty of Art. Her practice investigates visual perception through video, photography, and installation, with solo exhibitions and public art projects across Canada and international group shows at venues like the Vancouver Art Gallery, Lincoln Film Centre (NYC), and Matadero Madrid.

Briard has been awarded residencies in New York City, Spain, and the Banff Centre, alongside grants from major arts councils. She previously led non-profits CARFAC BC and Studio XX, and collaborates with initiatives like the Lucida Lab. Her work explores themes such as language, propaganda, and geological vision, as seen in projects like Le futur and GEOLOGICAL VISION TESTING LAB.
