Diana Weaver

Diana Weaver, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary and Asthma Service at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County since May 2000. Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the American Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. Weaver's research centers on health disparities in childhood asthma within Central Brooklyn's marginalized communities, with innovative focus on health literacy interventions and technology-driven patient education systems to empower families in asthma self-management. Her clinical expertise spans pediatric tuberculosis management, obstructive sleep apnea diagnostics, bronchopulmonary dysplasia care for preterm infants, and sickle cell disease pulmonary complications.

She has spearheaded program expansion through strategic partnerships with NYC Department of Health initiatives, School Health Office programs, DSRIP Community Health Worker Asthma Home Management, and NYC H+H Asthma Council to combat social determinants of health affecting asthma outcomes.

As Director of Kings County's Pediatric Pulmonary and Asthma Service, she leads multidisciplinary teams implementing community-based interventions targeting racial and economic disparities in pediatric asthma care across Central Brooklyn.
