Dr. Diana Rowan is a Professor and Interim Director of the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), within the College of Health and Human Services. She specializes in HIV/AIDS social work, international social work (particularly in sub-Saharan Africa), and community-based participatory research. Her research is funded by a $1.1M CDC grant focusing on HIV prevention among Black MSM. She leads a faculty-led study abroad program in Malawi and has authored numerous textbooks and peer-reviewed articles.
