Research Interests: Dr. Falkenbach’s work examines the etiology of psychopathy, aggression, and the development of assessment tools. She investigates psychopathic traits in understudied groups, including women and juveniles, and explores the overlap between criminal psychopathy and “successful” adaptations in professions like policing and corporate roles. Her recent studies address cross-cultural variations in psychopathy and the validity of aggression assessment instruments.
Publications: Over 15 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters since 2001, focusing on psychopathy subtypes, forensic assessment, and aggression. Key themes include psychopathy’s relationship with professional success, emotional intelligence, and malingering in criminal defendants.
Labs/Teams: Directs the M.A. program in Forensic Psychology at John Jay, fostering graduate training in forensic research and clinical practice.
