Ashleigh Thatcher is Associate Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at University of Derby's College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. Her research examines psychological factors underlying sexual offending, particularly how psychopathic traits interact with atypical sexuality and hypersexuality to increase coercion risk.
Current projects investigate:
- Psychopathy's moderating role between atypical sexuality and sexual coercion proclivity
- Hypersexuality as a risk amplifier in individuals with psychopathic traits
- Legal implications of sentencing policies for sexually motivated homicides
Her work informs risk assessment protocols and contributes to debates on criminal justice responses to severe sexual offenses. Publications appear in peer-reviewed journals including Sexual Abuse and Critical Criminology.
