Diana Ingenhoff

Diana Ingenhoff is a Full Professor of Organizational Communication and Public Diplomacy at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. She holds positions in the Department of Communication Science and Media Research within the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Her academic career includes roles as Vice Dean (2016-2019) and Executive Board Member of EUPRERA (2016-2022). She is also a research fellow at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy and an honorary member of the Swiss Society for Communication and Media Research (SGKM).

Her research focuses on digital diplomacy, strategic communication, country image formation, and corporate reputation management, applying quantitative and multi-method approaches. She has published extensively in journals like the International Journal of Press/Politics and European Journal of Communication Research. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications, advising foreign ministries and multinational corporations on communication strategies.

Ingenhoff’s research emphasizes the impact of digitalization, algorithms, and crisis communication on organizations and nations. She has conducted sabbaticals as a visiting professor at universities in the U.S., Australia, and Israel. Her contributions include co-editing volumes on public diplomacy and digital corporate communication, and developing methodologies for measuring country images and media quality.

Key achievements include founding the ICA Public Diplomacy Interest Group and serving as president of SGKM (2014–2019). Her work addresses global challenges such as climate diplomacy, city branding, and the ethical dimensions of corporate social responsibility. She collaborates internationally, contributing to policy-relevant research in public diplomacy and strategic communication.
