Diana Gragg is a Core Lecturer in Stanford University's Civil & Environmental Engineering Department and Managing Director of the Explore Energy program at the Precourt Institute for Energy. She teaches courses such as 'Understanding Energy' and advises students across Stanford's seven schools on energy-related opportunities.
Education:
- B.S. Chemical Engineering, UC Berkeley (2000)
- M.S. and Ph.D. in Atmosphere/Energy, Stanford University (2005/2012)
- Postdoctoral Scholar, Precourt Energy Efficiency Center (2012–2015)
Research Focus: Combines atmospheric chemistry modeling with sustainable transportation policy. Her doctoral work examined ethanol's impact on urban air quality using advanced gas/aqueous-phase chemistry models. Current efforts emphasize bridging academic energy research with practical educational programs for students.
Awards:
- Schneider Fellowship (2005)
Program Leadership: Manages Explore Energy initiatives including the Summer Undergraduate Program on Energy Research (SUPER), Shultz Fellowships, and Energy@Stanford&SLAC. Coordinates multi-school energy course offerings through the Understand Energy Learning Hub.
