Diana Doucette is a Research Professor and Director/Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of the Center for Atypical Language Interpreting (CALI) at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities. With over 25 years of experience, she has led major initiatives such as the RSA Interpreter Training Program and the Regional Interpreter Education Center. Her work focuses on interpreter education, language accessibility for atypical populations, and advancing certification standards for interpreters.
- Education: Master of Science (MEd) in Adult and Organizational Learning from Northeastern University
Her research and professional contributions emphasize improving interpreter training programs, advocating for Deaf and disability communities, and enhancing language access in healthcare and education. She co-leads CALI to address gaps in interpreting services for non-traditional communication needs.
Grants and collaborations include roles with the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC), where she contributed to national interpreter education advancements. Her expertise combines practical interpreter training with policy development to promote equitable communication access.
