Diana Arseni

Diana Arseni is a Research Fellow at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, University of Cambridge. Her work focuses on lysosomal biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and brain aging mechanisms.

Dr. Arseni’s research investigates the role of lysosomal protein TMEM106B in age-dependent amyloid formation and its implications for neurodegenerative diseases like frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and Alzheimer’s. She also explores TDP-43 and TAF15 amyloid structures in FTLD subtypes, using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to elucidate their molecular mechanisms. Key themes include:
